Norfolk Consolidated Courts Complex

This project includes the courthouse consolidation of the Circuit Court, General District Court, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court in Norfolk, VA. The 210,000 square foot facility contains jury, non-jury, ceremonial, and juvenile courtrooms for the courts. In addition, a central holding facility and sally port connects to the existing jail facility to provide direct transfer of inmates, and receive juveniles and outside jurisdiction inmates arriving by vehicle.

On-floor holding facilities are located between courtrooms and contain multiple holding cells with direct elevator and secure corridor access to the central holding facility. In addition, security electronics and detention equipment were a component of the construction. The courts complex has achieved LEED Silver certification.
