Harden Electrical Distribution System – Naval Base Guam

Under NAVFAC Marianas contract, Helix Electric acted as the prime contractor on the upgrade and hardening of the Navy’s primary electrical distribution system at Naval Base Guam. This design-build project not only hardened the system to mitigate damage caused by frequent typhoons, but also improved system capacity for future electrical load increases. The project incorporated site drainage and accounted for liquefaction of soils at substation locations. The construction incorporated large scale electrical infrastructure, electrical equipment, included medium voltage cable and splicing, terminating, and testing, large building construction, asphalt paving, water line installation and complex coordination with Government agencies.
