The California Independent System Operator (California ISO) Iron Point Facility, in Folsom, CA, is the 278,000 square-foot permanent headquarters for the non-profit organization that controls the state’s wholesale transmission grid. The new design-build headquarters is comprised of a parking structure and three wings, serving a distinct function and each created with a different structural system. The mission-critical wing supports California ISO’s essential services including a 60,000 square-foot data center and mechanical and electrical utility systems. This facility achieved LEED® Platinum certification and won the “2012 Best Overall Project Award” from the Design-Build Institute of America.
