INDUSTRY SLC

August 5, 2021

One of Salt Lake City’s oldest neighborhoods, The Granary District, has been in the process of revitalization and Helix has been a contributing factor to this renovation. The INDUSTRY SLC project began as an abandoned steel foundry and has since become modern office spaces that can be rented out to different companies.

The 300,000 square foot building was bought and gutted to make way for this adaptive reuse project. Due to the size and renovation needed on the warehouse, construction is being completed in stages. Helix began working on stage 5 in June 2021. The reuse aspect of the project requires evaluation of the current electrical boxes, conduit, and lights to make sure they are up to code before starting new construction. Although some of the previous electrical be reused, a lot will be pulled out and redone. Helix will provide electrical to the core as well as the light fixtures and gear. Once completed, this phase will add 71,000 square feet to the current office space.
