Many members of Helix's senior management team began their careers as college interns, co-ops, entry-level Project Engineers and Electrical Apprentices. We understand that for you to receive the highest quality experience during your co-op or internship, we must share all aspects of the business. Helix Electric is committed to providing co-op and internship opportunities that provide a highly detailed look into some of the most complex projects currently in work.
When students are selected for a Helix co-op, they work for a six-month period, 40 hours a week. During that time, Helix Electric provides students with:
- Paid training
- Paid housing
- Paid travel costs
Students will work with a Helix Project Manager who will assign tasks designed to prepare them for a Project Engineer position upon graduation.
- Estimating
- Labor and material management
- Blueprint reading
- Job costing and forecasting
- Production methods
- Prefabrication techniques
- Change order pricing
- How to write and respond to RFIs
